Japan's Aspark is working on a new, more potent version of its Owl electric hypercar. The new version is dubbed the Owl SP600, and during testing a prototype was taken to a top speed of 438.7 kph (approximately 272.6 mph), as measured by an onboard Racelogic V-Box. Should a production version eventuate with the same top speed, the Owl SP600 will.

The Norwegian new car market sinks in May at -23.2% year-to-date to 10,253 sales, bringing the year-to-date tally down -14.2% to 43,746. 7,893 BEVs found a buyer, a -26.7% year-on-year loss and accounting for a 77% market share vs. 80.4% a year ago. In contrast HEVs soar 20% to 1,250 but PHEVs implode -50.2% to 544.
