The Hyundai HB20 signs its 4th ever monthly win in Brazil. 202,474 new light vehicles found a buyer in Brazil in June, a fantastic 12.7% year-on-year improvement. The H1 2024 volume is up 15.3% to 1,077,080. This is the first time since 2021 that the H1 tally is above the 1 million mark. Fiat (-9.4%) goes against the positive market, enduring a harsh year-on-year loss but remaining by far the most popular manufacturer in the country with 19% share.

The Private Sales Ratio (PSR) was 30.7% in June 2023. Halfway through the year, German private sales are up 4.7% to 469,453 and 31.9% PSR vs. 32.1% over H1 2023.

This is once again the highest June result in 7 years: since the 127,419 units of June 2017. The H1 2024 tally is up a fantastic 11.5% to 708,649. The BYD Qin Plus is the best-selling vehicle in China over H1 2024. Data from the Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows Chinese wholesales stepping up 6.1% year-on-year over the First Half of 2024 to 14,047,000 units. Passenger Vehicles are up 6.3% to 11,979,000 while Commercial Vehicles climb 4.9% to 2,068,000. As for New Energy Vehicles, they are up 32% year-on-year to 4,944,000 (or 35.2% share) including 3,019,000 BEVs (+11.6%) and 1,922,000 PHEVs (+85.2%).

The Toyota Yaris Cross is up to a record 12.8% share in June. The Greek new car market is up a solid 5.6% year-on-year in June to 14,147 sales, leading to H1 2024 volumes up 10.9% to 78,020. Toyota surges 65.8% year-on-year to reach a record 21.8% share, eclipsing its previous best of 19.7% hit in August 2021. Suzuki (+27.6%) is also in great shape and ascends to the 2nd spot in the year-to-date ranking, toppling Peugeot (-20.4%) down to a paltry #6 this month.
