The 2025 Jeep Wrangler retains its manual transmission and V-6 engine, but now the two are inseparable. For 2025, the 3.6-liter V-6, which produces 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, is only available with the 6-speed manual. Buyers can still choose the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, which is rated at 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, but an 8-speed.

Ford bosses test drove a Changan SUV while evaluating Chinese competition last year. CFO John Lawler reportedly told CEO Jim Farley that the Chinese “are ahead of us.” This revelation comes shortly after Ford pulled back on some of its ambitious EV plans. An Arizona judge has sided with two Lucid employees, who were fired after trying to unionize the automaker. The court found the duo were “discharged based, in part, because of anti-union animus.” Higher ups at Lucid reportedly eavesdropped on the employees, plotted against them, and threw away union literature. The Swedish carmaker has a battery plant scheduled to open in 2025 in Gothenburg. In addition to asking for $1.2 billion worth of taxpayer dollars, Volvo has applied for state loan guarantees. Volvo recently backed away from a plan to sell nothing but EVs by 2030.
