USA August 2024: Mazda (+36.7%), Honda (+28.2%) highlight positive market

Mazda sales are up 36.7% year-on-year in August. OEM estimates have the U.S. new light vehicle market up a solid 6% year-on-year to 1.42 million units. This leads a year-to-date tally of 10.5 million units, up 1.5% over the same period in 2023. Light truck sales are up 8.9% to 1,115,000 units whereas passenger cars are off -5.1% to 266,000 units.
