Germany private sales October 2024: VW T-Roc back to #1, Mercedes GLA #3

The Mercedes GLA hits a 65.5% private sales ratio in October. Private sales in Germany are down -2.6% year-on-year in October to 77,021 for a PS ratio (PSR) of 33.2% vs. 36.1% a year ago in October 2023. The year-to-date tally is up 0.5% to 765,470 and 32.6% PSR vs. 32.3% over the first 10 months of 2023. The VW T-Roc returns to the top spot it holds year-to-date with a 47% PSR, in line with the 47.4% it commands so far this year.

This month Renault (+79.4%) surges ahead to lodge its first monthly win since April 2022. The French carmaker holds 13.3% share vs. 10.6% so far this year. It overtakes traditional leader Toyota (-26.9%) in great difficulty this month at 11.7% of the market vs. 15.4% year-to-date.
