Rivian's chief software officer, Wassym Bensaid, took to X to announce the availability of over-the-air upgrades that add power and range to certain versions of the R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck. In a post on Feb. 28, Bensaid revealed that an upgrade for models with the standard Dual-Motor powertrain increases output to the Dual-Motor Performance.

Renault sales surge in Belgium in February. Another disappointing month for Belgian new car sales in February at -8.1% year-on-year to 40,161 units. This way, the year-to-date tally recedes -10.7% or almost 10,000 sales to 80,755. BMW (-1.3%) leads the brands charts again but drops to 10.7% share after reaching a record 14.8% last month. Volkswagen (+6.1%) advances to #2 but the best performer of the month is Renault up a stellar 84.1% to climb to #3 overall.

Lexus is recalling 28 examples of its GX off-roader fitted with the optional Electric Brake Controller. “Due to an error in the fitting instructions for the optional accessory Electric Brake Controller, the Lower Drivers Airbag Assembly (removed during accessory fitment) may have been reinstalled using the incorrect torque,” the company says in its recall notice, noting this may cause the bolts to loosen. “As a result, the lower drivers airbag may not deploy as intended.
