Porsche in May revealed the first models from the updated 992-generation 911 family, though the track-focused 911 GT3 RS wasn't one of them. The first of the updated 992 911s have arrived for the 2025 model year, including a hybrid GTS, but the current GT3 RS along with the Turbo and Turbo S are all confirmed by Porsche to carry over unchanged for.

The Fiat Strada is back to #1 in Brazil. The Brazilian new car market advances +5.4% year-on-year in July to 227,300 sales, leading to a year-to-date volume up 13.4% to 1,304,380. Fiat (+13.6%) posts a stellar performance in the brands leadership and rises to 22.2% share with over 50,000 units, its highest share since September 2023 (23.1%). This is to be compared with just 10,226 sales and a record low of 8.2% at home in Italy.

Sales of Skoda Superb are up 81% year-on-year in July 17,452 new car hit Czech road in July, a solid 8.5% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date tally is now up 3.8% to 136,673. Skoda (-2.5%) goes against its positive home market but still accounts for an overwhelming 31.5% share vs. 33.2% so far the year. Toyota (+21.3%) excels and climbs to #2, distancing Volkswagen (-4.2%) and a freefalling Hyundai (-26.4%).

Nilu27 has unveiled their new hypercar, which features a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine. The model is slated to have more than 1,000 hp and a top speed of 249 mph. The Nilu is apparently track-only, but there are plans for a street-legal variant in the future. Long before there were a million EV startups, companies loved to announce plans for a new hypercar that would challenge Lamborghini and Ferrari.

Dodge’s decision to drop its Hemi V8 and offer electric power in its Charger met a mixed reception, and V8 fans don’t appear to be any more welcoming of attempts to make the electric vehicle (EV) sound combustion-powered. When the covers came off the electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept in August 2022, the company said the production model wouldn’t lose the resonating sounds from the old 6.2-litre supercharged Hemi V8.

Ford has launched two new e-bikes, inspired by the Bronco and Mustang. Both e-bikes have a 1 hp hub motor and a battery with a 60-mile range. The Mustang e-bike is priced at $4,000, while the Bronco e-bike starts at $4,500. Dodge has announced Charger Daytona pricing will start at $59,595 and climb to $73,190 for the Charger Daytona Scat Pack. Deliveries are slated to begin in the fourth quarter and orders will open up soon. The EV features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with up to 670 hp. Dodge has released pricing for the 2024 Charger Daytona and it’s far more affordable than expected as it starts at $59,595.
