Ferrari patents 3-motor electric car with sound generators

Two patent filings hint at how Ferrari is planning to make up for the lack of engine noises in future electric cars. One patent application, published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on March 21, and filed by Ferrari last year, is for a triple-motor EV with sound generators, plus inlets positioned near each of the motors.

Citroen sales gain 69.9% year-on-year in April. Sales of new light vehicles in Morocco advance 6.3% year-on-year in April to 13,268 units. This includes 11,906 passenger cars (+5.6%) and 1,362 light commercials (+12.9%). The year-to-date passenger car tally is down -3.1% to 43,647. In the lead of the brands ranking, Dacia (+17.5%) outpaces the market to 25% share vs. 27.5% so far this year.

France April 2024: Market up 10.9%, Toyota breaks monthly volume record

Toyota holds 8.4% of the French market in April. New car sales in France return to positive territory in April at +10.9% year-on-year to 146,977 units. This is the best April result since the pandemic but still a ghastly -21.9% on the 188,199 sales of pre-pandemic April 2019. The year-to-date volume is now up 6.9% to 591,880. Petrol sales are down -11.6% to 47,255, diesel is off -18.4% to 11,330 and PHEVs edge down -0.1% to 10,866.
