For the first time in 5 years, BSCB will be able to visit the biggest Auto Show in the world: Auto China! This year it is held in Beijing, and I will report on it in detail when the press days are over. Internet connection is unpredictable in China and some websites may be blocked so expect a few days with no updates this week as I’ll be focused on the Auto Show.

The E-Tron GT is an electric performance sedan developed by the Audi Sport division and closely related to the Porsche Taycan which recently debuted in updated form, receiving more range, performance, and faster charging. The Toyota Corolla Cross is now #1 year-to-date in Colombia. Holy week celebrations hit the Colombian new car market further in March at -22.6% year-on-year to 13,361 sales. Keep in mind March 2023 was already off -17.2% on the year prior. The Q1 volume is off -14.4% to 40,567. Toyota (-10.5%) resists much better than the market to hold onto the brands pole position with a dominant 16.1% share.

Prototypes are usually destroyed after development of a given vehicle is complete, but this Ferrari LaFerrari prototype escaped that fate and is now up for auction on SBX Cars. This car is a third-phase prototype designated by the factory as an F150 Protipo Preserie PS1, according to the auction listing. As a later-phase prototype, it's visually.

The Citroen C3 ranks #4 in March in Slovenia. Next generation pictured. The Slovenian new car market is almost immobile in March, up 1 unit year-on-year to 5,272 sales. The Q1 volume is up 4% to 13,993. Volkswagen (-15.3%) endures the biggest drop in the Top 9 but easily remains in the lead with 13.3% share vs. 12.7% so far this year. Skoda (-3.7%) is also in negative at #2 with 10.4% share, in line with the 10.3% it commands over Q1.

Hyundai is moving forward with the development of their Nano Cooling Film. It’s a transparent film that is applied to vehicles and helps to significantly lower interior temperatures.
