The Honda Civic is estimated to rank #2 in Pakistan in March. New locally produced light vehicle sales in Pakistan edge up 0.3% year-on-year in March to 9,379 units. This is a poor result given March 2023 was off -65.6% on the year prior. The Q1 volume is up 14% to 29,624 sales. This is according to local association PAMA. Note not all manufacturers present in Pakistan are members of PAMA such as Kia, Changan and MG notably and therefore don’t appear in these statistics.

Mazda sales are up 82% year-on-year in 2023. The Mauritius new car market soars 16.5% year-on-year in 2023 to a record 14,295 units, beating the previous record of 12,271 established just last year. Suzuki (+25%) tightens its grip on the brands ranking, ascending to 20.4% share vs. 12.6% for the #2, Toyota (+7.7%) trailing the market. Chevrolet Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter is retiring, effective later this summer, General Motors announced Wednesday, ending a 47-year career with the company. A US mother is suing electric vehicle (EV) giant Tesla after her toddler was allegedly able to start the family’s Model X SUV and run into her, breaking multiple bones and causing her to suffer a traumatic birth one week later. In a month were days-to-sell plummeted (more on that later), franchised and independent dealers combined to sell an estimated 1.66 million used vehicles, which was a 10.9% gain from March 2023 and up 18.5% from February, according to Cox Automotive. Through three months of 2024, dealers have sold approximately 4.38 million used vehicles, compared to 4.29 million the same period of 2023, Cox data shows.
