The patent filing in question was published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on May 16, after being filed by Ford earlier in the year. And it describes updated position-sensitive dampers suited.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has learned of multiple previously unknown autonomous taxi incidents in a recent safety probe, as the industry faces increased scrutiny. Mazda Australia has recalled 509 examples of the CX-90 SUV, owing to a fault which could cause its autonomous emergency braking system to be triggered by roadside objects which pose no threat to the SUV. “Due to a calibration issue within the Vehicle Control Module (VCM), when driving at low speeds the vehicle may falsely detect reflective objects such as metal walls, barriers or similar objects on the side of the road as an approaching object,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

Former small car specialist Smart is coming back to Australia with an all-electric lineup, almost a decade after the quirky carmaker departed local showrooms. A suspect jumped into a police cruiser in the early hours of the morning and drove away. In the process, he brought an LAPD officer with him in the car before smashing into two cars, some scooters, and a pole. Thankfully, everyone involved survived without life-threatening injuries. The new 2025 Toyota LandCruiser Prado (250 Series) will be up to $12,500 more expensive than the car it replaces when it goes on sale later in 2024. Toyota Australia today confirmed local pricing for the 250 Series Prado will start from $72,500 before on-road costs in base GX guise – a $9670 increase compared to the outgoing 150 Series. This is the smallest price rise across the board.
