It’s not what you’d call standout, but the addition of smartphone mirroring is a big development. You can feel pimply city streets jittering through the structure, although they’re better kept at bay than in the pre-update model, and sharper bumps really make their presence felt. It’s not a featherbed.

Bluelink uses the Optus 4G phone network. They’re now mandatory in Europe, and the way cars are developed means features such as this can’t easily be disabled for cars reaching Australia. At higher speeds, it feels suitably sure-footed over undulations on a country road, though it can’t iron out every sharp bump on the surface below.

The only real noise I heard were the insides of the cupboards and fridge flexing over harder bumps. Standard adaptive air suspension is typical Audi, in that it’s does a great job at ironing out the lumps and bumps of city life even on 21-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels (with 265/45 Bridgestone Alenza tyres), though also manages body control in more dynamic scenario with aplomb – would you expect anything less?
