I thought for the askingprice of this BMW i5 there would be a better connection quality. It’s really hard to find any harder plastics, which is good given the car’s askingprice. Every single urban road imperfection is soaked up by this setup, with the car even taking speed bumps on like a champ.

The Renault scores extra points here for its typically French ride, its softer and longer-travel suspension dealing more adeptly with long-wave undulations and sharp ridges and potholes. If anything, the Swift’s enhanced refinement makes it quieter over the bumps but it follows more of the road’s topography and becomes fidgety around town.
On test here is the flagship and high-performance-oriented 2024 Cupra Leon VZx which had its askingprice hiked by $1700 for model year 2024 (MY24), though it also picked up DAB+ digital radio. It has been a little overshadowed on the sales charts by the Formentor crossover and Born electric hatchback however.
With a starting price of $38,990 plus on-road costs, the new petrol model is significantly more expensive than the diesel it replaces, but still a lot cheaper than the battery-electric version (priced from $61,990 before on-roads). It handles small and large bumps well, and it never feels too clunky or sharp.
It handles urban road imperfections and even speed bumps with no problems whatsoever. Where it can get caught out, however, is over hard singular bumps like potholes, which can transmit into the cabin with a large thwack from what sounds like the shock absorbers. It’s not the most pleasant noise ever.
